// Founded in 1970, the Obion County Museum is celebrating its 37th year of operation.  The museum has numerous exhibits that are periodically changed.  Our present exhibit is 'The History of Coastal Surveys', a Smithsoian traveling exhibit.

We are constantly trying to think of new exhibits, and try to change our exhibits regularly. We currently have a Wooly Mammoth skeleton on display.

The Obion County Museum has hosted traveling exhibits, such as the Smithsonian "Key Ingredients" food history exhibit and  "United We Quilt" exhibit from the  American Quilter's Society.

We are proud of our exhibits and hope you will make every effort to visit us.

We have reduced the price of our publication, A Time Returned - Pictorial History.  Buy it now for $20.00, or $50.00 for the leather bound edition.

In addition to our main building, we have on site, a reconstructed authentic log cabin and a one-room 'Little Red School House'.  A storage building is also located on the property that is used to store artifacts that are not currently being displayed.

The purpose of the Obion County Museum is to preserve our past heritage, not so we can live in the past, but by knowing our heritage, we can better live in the present and plan for the future.  A fascinating look back into Obion County's colorful history can be found at the Obion County Museum.  The museum boasts a variety of interesting artifacts unique to Northwest Tennessee, from farming implements to clothing to photographs from Obion County's past.

We are constantly in need of support, both financial and physical.  We urge you to visit our Museum and become involved as a Museum member.

Our board meets the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 PM.  We would be glad to have you visit our board meeting.
